2015 Triennial Firefighter's Parade - Saturday, September 12, 2015
On September 12, 2015, the Goshen Fire Department will host its Triennial Fire Parade in the Village. Until 2013, our parades were limited to the firefighters and their guests and we sponsored a Float Parade in the evening which allowed various organizations, businesses, and other groups and individuals to participate in "Mardi Gras" type of event with trophies awarded in various categories.
For the parade we decided to combine the two parades, setting aside a separate division for the Float entries.
The following changes have been made regarding the 2015 parade:
This event will allow you to get your business message out to the public, let the parade watchers know what your group does, stir up interest for others to join your organization, or just allow your members to be a part of Parade Day in Goshen in 2015. Entries may be serious or humorous, large or small, on a tractor-trailer, a tow-behind trailer, a pick-up truck, a car, or a marching unit- all will be eligible for awards which will be presented in Parade Day in various categories. The Float Parade entries are only competing against each other- not against units in the first three divisions.
The only two rules we have is that we ask that entries do not include overt political campaigning and that no one throws any candy or other objects off of entries (the children caught up in trying to retrieve it, often darting in front of (or close alongside of) the entry) but you may certainly have members walking along by the spectators giving out such items.
Since two parades will be combined this year, the theme for the Float entries is. "GOSHEN - A COMMUNITY WORKING TOGETHER". Please give some serious thought to entering the parade and show commitment to our Village and your support of our firefighters.
Please send completed entries to:
